#Gtr2 mod f1 mod
The mod of the 1966 F1 cars contains the following car models :Īlong with the conversion of the cars, I have also included a Championship of the 1966 F1 Season. Bearing in mind that the cars in the mod do cover the entire season and there are cars that only appeared in the early season. I can get the cars in-game, working and GTR2-ised, they will still be using the physics as set for rFactor, which don’t quite work the same in the Simbin games.Ī lot of the 1966 cars are similar to their 1967 counterparts but there are a few that didn’t make it to the 1967 F1 season.Ī few lower powered cars are also amongst the field, probably due to 1966 being the first year of the new 3.0 litre formula and a number of manufacturers struggling to get a car up to spec due to money or time. The only problem is, apart from adjusting some rudimentary things and things required for the conversion, I don’t know the physics side of modding so whilst It was great fun to do the 1967 F1 cars a couple of years ago and I haven’t seen a conversion of the 66 F1 cars floating around so why not do it myself ? I have been keeping myself busy of late, working on a conversion to GTR2 of the 1966 F1 rFactor mod. I already have the tacho needle aligned with the HUD rev display. Currently the car shows max revs around 10,500 when it should max out at 9,500. To realign the tachometer gauge, all I would do is rotate the tacho image so that when in-game, the current revs line up with the revs on the tacho image.

I guess if the rev specs are changed that would probably alter the tacho but then that can always be adjusted in the. I’m not sure if after the physics are done, whether they would have affected the tacho. The only other thing that could need doing is realigning the tacho gauge to more accurately reflect the actual revs but this could change after someone does the physics. It is almost there but the sound seems to reach the end of the sample a fraction too soon and sounds like it is looping a really small section of the end of the engine sample. To Doįor the conversion, apart from physics, the car needs some tweaking to it’s engine sound at maximum revs. Driven by Jo Bonnier, the BT7 would make a single appearance in 1966 at the British Grand Prix at Brands Hatch.

The Brabham BT7 is a 1963 F1 car powered by a Coventry Climax FWMV Mk 3 90º V8.
